CPD teams up with Hoxworth to encourage blood donation

The Cincinnati Police is teaming up with Hoxworth Blood Center to encourage blood donations in a show of support for Sgt. Ron Schaeper.

Sgt. Schaeper was critically injured in a traffic accident on Aug. 16. Blood donations will not be designated for any particular patient; the drive is intended as a means to show support for a speedy and complete recovery.

From now until Saturday, donors are encouraged to give blood at a Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Center. The blood drive has been endorsed by the Schaeper Family and Chief James Craig. Donors can give at any Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Center.

If donating at a Neighborhood Donor Center, please give this CODE when you donate: PR-1248.

You can schedule an appointment at a Neighborhood Donor Center by calling 513-451-0910. Donor Centers are located in Anderson, Blue Ash, Downtown, Fort Mitchell, Mason, Tri-County and Western Hills.

You must be at least 17 years old (16 with a signed parental consent) and in good health. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate.
