Two Port Hadlock brothers received a sentence of more than four years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple North Kitsap burglaries that occurred in March and April.
Kitsap County deputy prosecutor Jay Wilkinson said Jason Michael Lucas, 29, and Robert Thomas Lucas, 23, each received 50 months at Kitsap County Jail. The two will be transported to Jefferson County where they face charges on two additional burglaries, which could also result in more jail time, Wilkinson said.
Kitsap Sheriff's Detectives developed probable cause for a search warrant when they discovered one of the suspects, a former landscaping employee who had worked on the burglarized properties, was attempting to sell stolen firearms. Officers went undercover to make a purchase from the man.
A large cache of firearms, several of which were antiques from the Civil War era, was recovered from the suspects' home . Some of the weapons were traced back to a residential burglary on Bainbridge Island.
The pair pleaded guilty June 26 to three counts of residential burglary, first-degree theft, possessing a stolen firearm and first-degree trafficking in stolen property, all of which are Class B felonies, Wilkinson said.
