Why They're No. 1: Substantial portions keep customers' mouths pleasingly full; nevertheless, word of mouth is credited with fueling the success of this second, but independently operated, Lomeli's (the original is in Gardena). The Orange County location entered its second decade with a move to Brea from Fullerton in 2010. "My wife and I opened with next to nothing and have built a loyal clientele because the food is always fresh, and the service is excellent," owner Cesar Lomeli said. Of course the recipes are secret, but bountiful party trays allow customers plenty of opportunity to try to figure them out. The company says at least 80 orders are prepared for takeout on Christmas Eve.
Claim to fame: Dinners are complete meals, with each order coming with soup or salad, garlic bread, ice cream, and a glass of house wine (for those of age). Dishes are kept authentic with Lomeli's making its own meatballs, pizza crusts and sauces. The secret-recipe salad dressings are sold by the bottle.

Pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees F Cut the butternut squash in half lengthwise. Scoop out and disregard the seeds Season the squash with salt and pepper and drizzle with some olive oil then bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until the flesh is soft When the squash is cooked, scoop out the flesh but make sure you leave a bit around the edges so it holds its shape. Mix the scooped out flesh with the risotto and refill the squash halves. Top with the grated cheeses and put back in the oven for another 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.Ingrédients:
