Helping Others: Upcoming charity events around Sacramento

• Sacramento Theatre Company. "A Night of Mystery, Music and Mayhem" is the theme of a Feb. 25 event at the Solomon Dubnick Gallery, 1021 R St. Guests will have the opportunity to dine alongside 12 of the most recognizable detectives of all time from the world of film, theater and literature. Actors from STC stages will portray such favorites as Sherlock Holmes, Dick Tracy, Sam Spade and Inspector Clouseau. The dinner theme salutes the STC's 2011-12 season. Festivities begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 7 p.m. and continue with dinner at 8 p.m. and dancing at 9:30 p.m. The "Night" is $150 per person, $1,350 a table for 10. • Rotary Club of Roseville. The 41st annual Garbolino seafood dinner is March 2 at the Roseville Sports Center, Mahany Park, 1545 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville. Special menu item is the chowder, first created by Fred Garbolino when he was club president. His son, Jim Garbolino, also a former president, helps with the chowder preparation. Proceeds help support programs benefiting children, including Miles of Smiles, which provides free dental screening, sealants and services for children in second and fifth grades

• Team Donate Life. The annual pasta feed will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Folsom Community Center, 52 Natoma St., Folsom. Proceeds will be used to increase public awareness for organ donation and transplantation and to assist those undergoing the transplant process. The event also will help support the all-juniors cycling team, Believe & Achieve, that will compete in the 2012 Race Across America. Pasta feed tickets are $25 adult, $15 children 10 and under.
