Aubrey Stewart Project Makes Stop at VA Hospital
CLARKSBURG -- The Aubrey Stewart Project is making its way across the state and made a special trip to the Veterans Affairs Hospital.It tells the story of a Black World War II soldier who was tortured and killed by the Germans after the Battle of the Bulge.
The Project has made stops in Marion County sharing Stewart's story and working to end racism and prejudice.
During the presentation, guests are able to sign a petition that will be presented to Congress to help the group's cause to end prejudice.
Monday's stop has special meaning for those with the project.
For the first time, veterans at the VA Hospital were able to hear the story.
"These are men that fought, would've fought, the same time, the same battle with Mr. Aubrey. So, it's a tremendous privilege to be amongst them and thank them for their service, because we might not be here today if it weren't for these brave men and women, too," CJ Coleman, president of the Project, said.

Three years down the road, there seems to be no turning back for Aubrey and co. as a collective. However, we seriously hope the budding divas put their talent to good use, for it would be a crime against the industry if they were to ’sleep on it’.
